The Rules of Golf, Mass Golf Hard Card, and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Championships govern all play except as modified by the following local rules:

 

Scorecard: The Crestwood scorecard is unofficial and has no status.

 

Format: 18 Holes Stroke Play. The format will be a modified scotch (Selected Drive Alternate Shot). Each team member will hit a tee shot after which the better of the two balls will be played into the hole in alternate shot format. Please remember that penalty strokes DO NOT affect the order of play. For example: Player A hits his ball into a penalty area. Player B would drop a ball as prescribed under 17.1d and play the next stroke.

 

Tees: All play will be from the BLUE Mass Golf Tee Markers (approx. 6,600 yards).

 

Out of Bounds: Defined by the inside edge at ground level of all white stakes, white lines, boundary fence posts and roads. All parking areas are out of bounds and are defined by the paved edge of the parking lot.

Red Penalty Areas: Defined by red stakes or lines. In the absence of a line, the stakes define the edge of the penalty area.

Yellow Penalty Areas: Defined by yellow stakes or lines. In the absence of a line, the stakes define the edge of the penalty area.

Hole #18 - Crossing front of tee

 

***As an additional relief option for the yellow penalty area on Hole #5, a player may use the entire forward tee box as a dropping zone.

 

Abnormal Course ConditionsAll French drains, cart paths (paved or unpaved), roads (paved or unpaved), and their extensions. Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1.

 

Ground Under Repair: Areas enclosed with white paint are defined as ground under repair. Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1.

 

Decorative Flower Areas: Mulched decorative flower areas are No Play Zones. Relief is mandatory under Rule 16.1f.

 

Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens: If an immovable obstruction and a player's ball are in part of the general area - cut to fairway height or less - within 2 club lengths of the putting green and within 2 club lengths of the ball intervenes with the line of play, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.

 

Pace of Play:  Pace for this round is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Please ensure that you are keeping within one hole of the group in front of you and within the time par printed on your scorecard.

 

Integral Objects: All stone walls and rock outcroppings are integral objects, relief without penalty is NOT permitted.

 

DECISIONS BY THE RULES COMMITTEE IN ATTENDANCE ARE FINAL.
